Capex Life Assurance Strengthens Strategic Partnerships At Sacco Leaders Conference.
The 11th Annual SACCO Leaders’ Convention successfully concluded in Mombasa, bringing together cooperative leaders from across the country to deliberate on the future of the SACCO sector and strategies for safeguarding member savings.

Organized by the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO), under the theme “The Cooperative Difference: Where members thrive, communities prosper, and the future is secure,” the convention centered on strengthening governance, leadership, and sustainability within Kenya’s cooperative movement.
The convention served as a strategic platform for dialogue and collaboration on critical cooperative sector issues. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Capex Life Assurance Executive Director Mr. Owodunni Olugbenga engaged delegates in discussions on strategic partnerships, member deposit protection, and the long-term stability and sustainability of the SACCO sector. The conversations reinforced the importance of collaboration between financial service providers and SACCOs in building resilient, well capitalized institutions.

While officially opening the convention, Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya emphasized on the urgent need for the implementation of reforms in the sector. Oparanya revealed that the government is considering amending the SACCO Societies Act to improve regulation.
